Small Business Health Insurance Program Launches on Budget and on Time in 6.5 Months

RESTON, VA, November 2, 2015 — hCentive, the leader in public health insurance exchange solutions, has implemented Arkansas Small Business Health Options (SHOP), a state-based marketplace through which brokers and small businesses provide employees access to health insurance. Arkansas SHOP launched successfully under the My Arkansas Insurance brand on November 1. With the launch, Arkansas offers brokers across the state an end-to-end SHOP solution that includes online health insurance plan shopping and enrollment with integrated billing and payments to better serve their clients – for example, by creating online proposals for employers. hCentive is also proud to open their SHOP Contact Center in Little Rock, which is staffed by trained local Arkansas SHOP representatives to provide the support brokers and small businesses need to successfully enroll employees.

hCentive was selected this year by the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace (AHIM) Board of Directors as the prime vendor to implement the state’s SHOP program with a transparent and accountable marketplace. hCentive’s technology already powers the Federal SHOP marketplace as well as individual marketplaces for states including Massachusetts and Colorado.

Highlights:

  • My Arkansas Insurance marketplace [www.myARinsurance.com] provides agents and brokers the ability to help small businesses and their employees select and enroll in health and dental insurance plans that match their needs.
  • Key features of the site include: easy-to-use portals (in English and Spanish) to provide plan options and enrollment capabilities; calculator to enable small businesses to estimate their tax credit; search tool to view a listing of certified agents or brokers in that area; chat functionality for agents and brokers, small businesses and employees.
  • By implementing hCentive’s innovative, out-of-the-box WebInsure™ State Exchange SHOP product and incorporating the company’s experience from implementing marketplace technology in multiple states, Arkansas SHOP launched in the shortest time in the nation with just 6.5 months between contracting and start of enrollment.
  • hCentive conducted regional training sessions with AHIM for over 100 agents and brokers, hosting meetings with small businesses across the state to discuss enrollment opportunities for employers and working closely with SHOP-certified agents and brokers.

The support we have received from the hCentive team, those working on-site and those working remotely, was absolutely essential in laying a firm and reliable foundation for Arkansas SHOP. hCentive’s technical platform and expertise has enabled AHIM to not only launch on budget, but also with an incredibly short development lead time in deploying a sustainable solution.”

Maydad Cohen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Government Solutions, hCentive, Inc.

“hCentive and our SHOP Team are pleased with the launch of Arkansas’ newest marketplace. We have leveraged the knowledge and experience we have gained from our past successes to accelerate the deployment of a proven, out-of-the-box product for a successful launch.
